I Don't Have a Pen, I Don't Have a Phone, But I Do Have a Constitution!

I’ll be damned if I will sit by and let the president spew his rhetoric on American gun violence with his solution “I have a pen and a phone” executive order nonsense.

Yes, I said nonsense, not the horrific violence and tragedies we’ve seen of late in San Bernardino, Colorado, Roseburg, OR and others. They were terrible and real solutions are warranted.

But the president’s approach on “gun violence” is to put out an executive order making gun purchasing more stringent through the vetting process for gun purchasers.

Well, let me disabuse those who believe that. We have in place some of the most effective vetting qualifications for purchasing a firearm.

How do I know this – well by my personal experience.

I have purchased a number of firearms in two different states; one state colored blue and the other red. In each state the purchase vetting process was thorough. There was no way I was going to get a firearm unless I met the stringent guidelines, which of course I did. I am a proud concealed weapons gun owner.

But I stray from relevance, which many in the media have. The debate should be whenever the president or anyone for that matter wants to create a law, change a law or get rid of one it is done constitutionally. Not, dam it by a phone and pen.

Mr. President, make your arguments and express your viewpoints with congress and get them to agree and create the legislation. Yes constitutionally you have the right to propose, suggest and bring it to the house, but you don’t by constitutional law make laws.

To remind you and others in our representative house - article I “all legislative powers herein granted shall be vested in a congress of the United States, which shall consist of a senate and House of Representatives.

Mr. President, you took the oath, you house and senate reps took the oath, now hold true to that oath.

At In Search of Liberty, our goal is to restore the Constitution in the hearts and minds of Americans through what can be the most honest form, Filmmaking.

Help us restore the Constitution!
